Hillsdale and Burlingame are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Hillsdale FIGHTING KNIGHTS will be playing in front of their home fans against the Burlingame Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Hillsdale is likely headed into the match with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Menlo-Atherton on Friday. Hillsdale took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Menlo-Atherton. While losing is never fun, the FIGHTING KNIGHTS can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 673rd, while the Bears are ranked 105th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Burlingame, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Jefferson on Friday, sneaking past 47-44. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since November 30, 2024.

Burlingame found their leader in freshman Lucca Maher, who went 8 of 12 en route to 20 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Those three steals gave Maher a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton Fong Heady, who posted two points.

Burlingame's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Hillsdale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Hillsdale came up short against Burlingame in their previous meeting back in January, falling 62-50. Can Hillsdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
