It was a good run, but Leyden unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to the Regina Dominican Panthers. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Leyden's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Regina Dominican, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-8.

Leyden and Waukegan will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Regina Dominican, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Saint Ignatius College Prep at 6:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
