Softball Game Preview: Monona Grove Silver Eagles vs. Baraboo Thunderbirds + How To Watch

The Monona Grove Silver Eagles will head out to face off against the Baraboo Thunderbirds at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monona Grove will be strutting in after a win while Baraboo will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Monona Grove turned things around against Janesville Craig on Friday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Cougars.

Addison Veith was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Smith, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Baraboo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Waunakee. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Thunderbirds have suffered since April 5, 2025.

Monona Grove's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Baraboo, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Everything went Monona Grove's way against Baraboo in their previous matchup back in April, as Monona Grove made off with a 9-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Silver Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
