The Lampasas Badgers will venture away from home to face off against the Lorena Leopards at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lampasas is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Lampasas gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They came out on top against University by a score of 35-28. That's two games straight that the Badgers have won by exactly seven points.

Lampasas' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wesley Stephens, who rushed for 144 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Those 144 rushing yards gave Stephens a new career-high. KJ Reed also helped out as he racked up 134 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lampasas was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 299 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as University only rushed for 28.
Meanwhile, Lorena was fully in charge last Friday, breezing past C.H. Yoe 42-13. The win continues a trend for the Leopards in their matchups with the Yoemen: they've now won three in a row.
Lampasas better keep an eye on Jaxon Blancett. He was instrumental in Lorena's win, throwing for 151 yards and one TD, while also punching in one score on the ground. Parker Bottoms was in the mix as well, providing the Leopards with one touchdown.
One reason for the win was Lorena's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Sloan Blackwell, Chase Rohde, and Bottoms, who each picked up one sack apiece. Lorena received some extra help from Bottoms, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Lampasas' record now sits at 5-0. As for Lorena, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Lampasas has deployed a run-first offense that has averaged 259.6 rushing yards a game. Meanwhile, Lorena has preferred to attack from the air: they average 334.5 passing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Thursday? There's only one way to find out.
Lampasas was able to grind out a solid win over Lorena in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 24-13. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Blancett, who rushed for 108 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 155 yards on 11 of 20 attempts.
