Soccer Game Preview: Wilmington vs. Herscher

Wilmington hasn't had much luck against Herscher recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will challenge the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Wilmington's victory against Momence wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Momence Athletics 3-2. Wilmington haven't had any issues with Momence recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Herscher kept a clean sheet against Chicago Hope Academy on Tuesday. They blew past Chicago Hope Academy 9-0. Herscher might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Chicago Hope Academy from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Gianni Jaime led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Herscher's victory bumped their record up to 18-2. As for Wilmington, their win bumped their record up to 5-11-1.

Wilmington might still be hurting after the 6-2 loss they got from Herscher in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
