Football Recap: Franklinton Red Rams vs. Williams Bulldogs
Franklinton and Williams squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Franklinton had to settle for second. They were dealt a 49-12 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Red Rams have suffered since September 12th.
Keith James threw for 184 yards on 19 of 38 attempts. Amani Blacknall was his top target, picking up 100 receiving yards. On the ground, Harrison Long rushed for 28 yards and two touchdowns.
Kyrian Fuller produced another solid effort rushing for 139 yards and one TD on only seven carries, while also throwing for 157 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 passes for Williams. Amarion Richmond was in the mix as well, providing the Bulldogs with two scores.
Franklinton's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Williams, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
Franklinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Williams, they will face off against Union Pines at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings' defense has only allowed 6.8 points per game this season, so the Bulldogs' offense will have their work cut out for them.
