Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Blue Hill

Blue Hill extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Ellie Mangers. The Blue Hill Bobcats took down the Loomis Wolves 52-38 on Friday thanks in part to Mangers, who posted 26 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Blue Hill's points.

Another player making a difference was Reece Mlady, who put up seven points in addition to 14 boards and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 12 games she's played.

Despite the loss, Loomis saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sophia Schemper went 6 for 12 on her way to 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Schemper continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Blue Hill is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.9 points per game. As for Loomis, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Blue Hill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-28 victory against Lawrence-Nelson on the 28th. Loomis has also already played their next game, a 48-26 defeat against Centura on the 25th.
