Volleyball Recap: Sun Valley Has No Trouble Against Legion Collegiate Academy

Sun Valley lost to Legion Collegiate Academy back in September of 2021, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lancers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Sun Valley not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Legion Collegiate Academy between 14 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-17.

Makenna Shelton paced Sun Valley's offense, picking up nine kills. Shelton got some help from Riley Parker and her 20 assists. Parker was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Sun Valley's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sun Valley will square off against Weddington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Legion Collegiate Academy, they will face off against Ambassador Christian School at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
