It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Addison Trail can now relate to. They took a 36-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jacobs Golden Eagles on Saturday. The Blazers' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

When it comes to explaining why Addison Trail lost, don't look at Nico Dill. Despite the final result, he threw for 232 yards and three TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Gio Ortiz was another key player, picking up 93 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jacobs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caden DuMelle, who rushed for 138 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. DuMelle also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Golden Eagles are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Michael Cannady, who rushed for 163 yards and one score while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

Addison Trail suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 8-2. As for Jacobs, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Addison Trail does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jacobs, they will square off against Brother Rice at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Crusaders' defense has only allowed 10.9 points per game this season, so the Golden Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
