Soccer Game Preview: Gilbert vs. Winterset

Gilbert is a perfect 7-0 against Winterset since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Tigers will take on the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gilbert has three straight wins, Winterset has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Six must be Gilbert's lucky number: they beat Ogden with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Tigers blew past the Bulldogs 6-1. That's two games straight that Gilbert have won by exactly five goals.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Winterset and Ballard, and Ballard kept the tradition alive. The Huskies fell just short of the Bombers by a score of 2-1 on Monday.

Gilbert's victory bumped their record up to 5-2-1. As for Winterset, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Gilbert beat Winterset 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
