Softball Recap: Bethlehem Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Bethlehem's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They didn't even let the Fort Knox Eagles on the board, marking the Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees' second-straight 16-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Eagles/Banshees in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.

Taylor Goshen and Alexis Hume were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Goshen pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Hume pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. At bat, Goshen went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Hume went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That hit was Goshen's first of the season.

In other batting news, Bethlehem got a massive performance out of Malorie Thiel, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2. Thiel also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Gabby Luckett was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Bethlehem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Bethlehem's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14 runs. As for Fort Knox, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
