Soccer Game Preview: Sweetwater vs. Olympian

The Sweetwater Red Devils will challenge the Olympian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sweetwater is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.

Sweetwater's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed back in December of 2024. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Sage Creek. Considering the Red Devils have won four games by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Sage Creek with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bryan Diaz, Kevin Moreno, Faisal Musah Muhama, and Diego Hernandez.

Meanwhile, Olympian came into Friday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a goal and slipped past Montgomery 2-1.

Sweetwater is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five games. As for Olympian, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9-1.

Everything went Sweetwater's way against Olympian in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, as Sweetwater made off with a 6-0 victory. Will Sweetwater repeat their success, or does Olympian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
