Softball Recap: Gabriel Richard Comes Up Short

Gabriel Richard extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-7. They fell 18-13 to the Huron River Rats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the River Rats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-5 on Tuesday.

As for Huron, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.3 runs over those games.

For Huron's part, Olivia Finnie was excellent, going 5-for-6 with six RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those six RBI gave Finnie a new career-high. Mya Stewart was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Gabriel Richard will take on St. Catherine of Siena Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Huron, they will head out to take on Belleville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
