Basketball Recap: Largo Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Chase Clark and Elijah Shultz + How To Watch

Largo extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-2. They took a 74-59 bruising from the Hollins Royals. The Packers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Royals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Largo's loss came despite strong showings from Elijah Shultz and Chase Clark. Shultz shot 78% from the field on his way to 16 points, while Clark posted 17 points. Yuri Price was another key player, putting up nine points.

Hollins' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but George Montgomery led the charge by earning 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Montgomery is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jon Sondergold, who had 17 points.
