Basketball Recap: Conway Springs Skates Past Douglass with Ease

Conway Springs had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They breezed by the Douglass Bulldogs to the tune of 53-24. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

Douglass lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jace Pichler, who posted three points and four steals. Pichler has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Bronsyn Knisley also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

Conway Springs' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Douglass, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Conway Springs Cardinals take on the Independent Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Conway Springs is facing Independent at the right time seeing as Independent is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Douglass, they will take on Belle Plaine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
