Softball Recap: Minerva Falls to Canfield in First Game of Season

Minerva kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Canfield Cardinals by a score of 4-3.

Rachel Weaver made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Breton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Coming up, Minerva will venture away from home to square off against Columbiana at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Canfield, they will host Field at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
