Baseball Recap: Northview Gets the Win

Northview took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Anthony Wayne, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Generals on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Nick Schantz tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Colin Tomanski, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Draper, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Northview's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Anthony Wayne, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 8-3 record.

Northview will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Generals: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
