Basketball Recap: PARKER GOLSCH's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pieper over Mckinney Boyd

If Pieper was feeling good fresh off their 74-54 takedown of Corsicana on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pieper Warriors took a 52-36 bruising from the McKinney Boyd Broncos on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Broncos are ranked 318th).

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was PARKER GOLSCH, who posted 13 points. GOLSCH continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of CHRISTIAN HARRIS, who put up six points.

Pieper's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for McKinney Boyd, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-10.

Pieper wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-48 victory against Plano on the 28th. As for McKinney Boyd, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Allen at 1:30 p.m.
