Softball Recap: Brookfield Picks Up 17th Consecutive Win

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Brookfield walked away with it. They came out on top against the Ledyard Colonels by a score of 4-0 on Wednesday. Winning may never get old, but the Bobcats sure are getting used to it with their 17th in a row.

Sydney Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Miller wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Sinapi, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Brookfield's record now sits at 24-1. As for Ledyard, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Looking ahead, Brookfield will take on St. Joseph on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bobcats 1.1, the Cadets 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Ledyard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
