Baseball Recap: Wyomissing Victorious

Wyomissing's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Pottsville Crimson Tide 7-6. While the Spartans didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Teddy White made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. White was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Daniel Noey, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Cole Sensenig was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Wyomissing has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Pottsville, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Wyomissing will take on Kutztown at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 1.1 runs per game this season, so the Spartans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pottsville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Blue Mountain at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
