Basketball Game Preview: Lake Region Rangers vs. Harwood Highlanders

Lake Region hasn't had much luck against Harwood recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lake Region Rangers will take on the Harwood Highlanders at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Thursday, Lake Region took a blow against North Country Union, falling 51-21. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Vermont basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Falcons are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Harwood entered their game against Lamoille on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The match between Harwood and Lamoille didn't end well, with Harwood falling 57-41. The contest marked the Highlanders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Harwood's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-2. As for Lake Region, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Lake Region was dealt a bruising 54-16 defeat at the hands of Harwood when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Lake Region avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
