Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Grace Costner and Jules Horton Lead Santa Barbara to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clovis East, Santa Barbara was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Dos Pueblos Chargers with a sharp 3-0 win. The Dons haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-19.

Leading Santa Barbara to victory were Jules Horton and Grace Costner. Horton had five digs and two aces, while Costner had 11 digs and five aces. Horton has been hot, having also posted 22 or more assists the last seven times she's played. Gigi Yoshimi also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Santa Barbara was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Santa Barbara's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Dos Pueblos, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
