Volleyball Recap: Providence Christian Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

Providence Christian Academy entered their tilt with Athens Academy on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 2-0. That's more bragging rights for the Storm, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Among those leading the charge was Emmy Moody, who had six aces and four digs. Those six aces gave her a new career-high.

Moody wasn't the only good servers: Providence Christian Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 12 consecutive contests.

Providence Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 29-7. As for Athens Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-11 record this season.

Providence Christian Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Fayette County at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Athens Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Barrow Arts and Sciences Academy on the 25th.
