Softball Recap: Bryan County's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday + How To Watch

Bryan County fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Statesboro on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Redskins have suffered since August 9th.

Eris Deal was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in earned runs (zero). She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Deal wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Camryn Parker, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Bryan County moved to 8-6 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak. As for Statesboro, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Bryan County will head out to take on Emanuel County Institute at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Redskins will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Statesboro, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Effingham County at 6:00 p.m.
