Baseball Game Preview: Hagerty Huskies vs. Creekside Knights

The Hagerty Huskies will square off against the Creekside Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hagerty is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Hagerty is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Seminole with a sharp 13-3 victory on Thursday.

N. Adkins looked comfortable as he struck out 11 batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned runs in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hagerty let M. Murray Jr. and R. Foscolo run wild. Murray Jr. scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2, while Foscolo scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Foscolo has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Keltan Fitzgerald, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Creekside was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They came up short against Trinity Christian Academy, falling 7-1. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Gavin Duprey was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Creekside is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 1-2 otherwise.

At the plate, Creekside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Balazic, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one RBI.

Hagerty pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Creekside, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
