Baseball Game Preview: Coeur d'Alene Vikings vs. Post Falls Trojans

For the second straight game, Coeur d'Alene will face off against Post Falls. The Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coeur d'Alene is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Coeur d'Alene fell victim to Post Falls and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 1-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.

Bam Fenter spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up 15 Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Coeur d'Alene's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 6-2 (and 3-5 when he doesn't).

The win (which was Post Falls' ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-9. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Coeur d'Alene, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.
