Rowlett dropped down to 4-4 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Wylie East Raiders by a score of 16-14. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Raiders are ranked 65th).

As for Wylie East, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.0 points on average this season.

Wylie East's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Utubor, who rushed for 86 yards and one score. The team also got some help courtesy of Keveyon Thorne, who threw for 292 yards and one TD.
