Basketball Recap: Apopka's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Apopka needed a changed in momentum after dropping six straight games and they got it from Amari Dillon. The Blue Darters breezed past the Osceola Kowboys to the tune of 45-12 on Wednesday with plenty of help from Dillon, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 19 boards. She also grabbed seven steals, which is notable because Apopka is 4-1 when she posts at least three steals, but 0-10 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Mikayla Wiggins, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played.

Apopka's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Osceola, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coming up, Apopka will take on Lake Minneola at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Osceola, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 38-24 win against Innovation on the 8th.
