Basketball Recap: Sandhills Classical Christian Comes Up Short at Home Against Cape Fear Christian Academy

Sandhills Classical Christian unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through an 80-29 loss at the hands of the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cape Fear Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caden Scarborough, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points along with five assists and four steals. Scarborough has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kayden Dunkins, who posted 11 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Cape Fear Christian Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0.

Sandhills Classical Christian and Cape Fear Christian Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Lions see the court they'll take on Crossroads Christian at 6:30 p.m. on December 2. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, their break will end when they face Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
