Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart piles up the points against Mater Academy Charter

The Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart Cyclones had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past Mater Academy Charter 63-29 on the road.

Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart was led to victory by Sylvia Figueroa and Alissa Azcuy. Figueroa scored 9 points along with 9 assists and 7 steals, while Azcuy went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 0 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Josephine Salazar, who scored 10 points.

Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Mater Academy Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart will square off against Ransom Everglades at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mater Academy Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Southridge at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
