Baseball Game Preview: Clear Fork Colts vs. Lucas Cubs

The Clear Fork Colts will challenge the Lucas Cubs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lucas took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Clear Fork, who comes in off a win.

Clear Fork took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Pleasant. The win continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Lucas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against New London, falling 13-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cubs have suffered against the Wildcats since March 30, 2017.

Lucas saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Fanello, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Clear Fork's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Lucas, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything went Clear Fork's way against Lucas when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Clear Fork made off with a 6-0 win. Will the Colts repeat their success, or do the Cubs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
