Recap: Enka Jets vs. McDowell Titans

The Enka Jets suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 60-25 defeat at the hands of McDowell. While losing is never fun, Enka can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while McDowell is ranked 54th).

Kensly Stewart was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 15 points. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kimora Stewart, who scored ten points.

Enka bumped their record down to 4-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for McDowell, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Enka will challenge North Buncombe at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Aubrey Gilliland and Kylie Carver. As for McDowell, they will head out on the road to square off against Asheville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Asheville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
