Basketball Game Preview: Paulding County Patriots vs. Cass Colonels

Paulding County hasn't had much luck against Cass recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Patriots will welcome the Colonels at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Paulding County easily dispatched South Paulding last Saturday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Patriots fell just short of Alexander by a score of 51-48 on Tuesday.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Hope Johnson, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 14 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. Lillie Harris was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Cass came up short against Chattooga on Tuesday and fell 44-32. That's two games in a row now that the Colonels have lost by exactly 12 points.

Paulding County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Cass, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Paulding County didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Cass in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-49 victory. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colonels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
