Basketball Game Preview: Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders vs. Savannah Athletic Association Jaguars

The Faith Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge the Savannah Athletic Association Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Faith Baptist Christian Academy is leaving town to face Savannah Athletic Association after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Crusaders fell 38-31 to Coastal HomeSchool on Friday. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Hurricanes recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Sophie Sellars was Faith Baptist Christian Academy's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Sellars also led the team in assists with two. Bella Gray held things down on the boards with 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Savannah Athletic Association had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against Brunswick Christian Academy by a score of 64-55 on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Jaguars in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Faith Baptist Christian Academy better focus on containing Natalie Santos and Chloe McNew as the pair were huge in Savannah Athletic Association's win. Santos posted 30 points, while McNew scored 27 points. McNew's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points.

Faith Baptist Christian Academy couldn't quite get it done against Savannah Athletic Association in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 as they fell 52-42. Can the Crusaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
