Winters can attribute much of their success to Lane Brown, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and Sebastian Rodriguez, who rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns. Winters wouldn't let Rio Vista keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Winters can thank Julian Herrera and Ricky Garcia for forcing both of them. Herrera is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made eight or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season.
Gridley kicked off their season on the road last Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 22-10 to University Prep.
Despite the defeat, Gridley had strong showings from Gus Stogsdill, who rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown, and Luis Murillo, who rushed for 95 yards on only 11 carries.
