Basketball Recap: Jameer Patel Key Part of Team Effort in Knights Win + How To Watch

A well-balanced attack led North Henderson over Avery County in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. The Knights put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 74-52 victory. The Knights pushed the score to 60-40 by the end of the third, a deficit the Vikings had little chance of recovering from.

North Henderson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jameer Patel, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 15 points and four steals. Patel has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Hudson, who went 5-for-9 en route to 14 points.

North Henderson was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They racked up eight more assists than Avery County's also-impressive total of ten.

Defeat or not, Avery County got some senior leadership from Hank Johnson and Oak Markland. Johnson shot 71% from the field on his way to 17 points, while Markland posted 16 points.

North Henderson has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 81.5 points this season. As for Avery County, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
