Softball Recap: Goldsboro Comes Up Short

Goldsboro's last matchup with Eastern Wayne could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Warriors, falling 10-2. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost five in a row.

Goldsboro's record now sits at 3-5. As for Eastern Wayne, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Goldsboro will square off against Beddingfield at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Bruins at the right time seeing as the Bruins are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Eastern Wayne, they will challenge Princeton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
