Basketball Recap: Jordin Callen Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Rio Vista

Dixon won the last time they faced Rio Vista and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dixon Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 win over the Rio Vista Rams. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Dixon.

Dixon got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordin Callen out in front who posted eight points and four steals. Those eight points gave Callen a new career-high. Emily Morris was another key player, putting up nine points and four steals.

Despite the loss, Rio Vista still got an impressive performance from Samiah Holley, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 steals. Holley is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Guadalupe Valdenegro, who dropped a double-double on 16 boards and 12 steals.

Dixon's record is now 2-0. As for Rio Vista, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Dixon didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 59-36 loss against Fairfield on the 5th. As for Rio Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-11 defeat against Ponderosa on the 5th.
