 Palmer was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They suffered a  tough 19-1 loss at the hands of the Canon City Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Palmer of the  15-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  last Tuesday.
 For Canon City's part,  the team  relied heavily on  Trey Schumaker, who  went 2-for-2 with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run. Another player making a difference was  Tanner Leonard, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2.
 Palmer's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Canon City, the  win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-7.
 Palmer will be playing in front of their home fans against Widefield at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Canon City, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Cheyenne Mountain at 10:00  a.m.  on Friday. Cheyenne Mountain is on a three-game streak of home wins, Canon City a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field.
