Volleyball Recap: El Dorado's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but El Dorado unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Union Mine Diamondbacks by a score of 3-2. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Diamondbacks earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

El Dorado actually scored more points across those five sets (110-105), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 27-25, 17-25, 21-25, 15-12.

Despite the loss, El Dorado still got an impressive performance from Hailey Kroeker, who had 16 digs and three aces. Alice Ripley also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

El Dorado's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 13-1 and their overall record down to 18-9. As for Union Mine, they pushed their record up to 20-4 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, El Dorado and Central Catholic will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Union Mine, they will square off against Woodland at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
