Basketball Recap: Richton Rebels vs. Mize Bulldogs

The Richton Rebels waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They snuck past Mize with a 64-59 win. Given Richton's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 271st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Richton found their leader in underclassman Daylin Carter, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Carter hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Dave Woulard, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Richton pushed their record up to 19-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Mize, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16.

Richton will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Collins is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.5 points per game this season. Mize does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
