Basketball Recap: Mission Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Mission Valley waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 53-34 victory over the Cair Paravel Lions. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Mission Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kailynn Jacobson, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven boards gave Jacobson a new career-high. Taylor Brammell was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Mission Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Mission Valley now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Cair Paravel, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Mission Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-20 victory against Northern Heights on the 7th. Cair Paravel has also already played their next matchup (against Cornerstone Family), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
