Baseball Recap: Brookside Comes Up Short

Brookside was the 6-5 winner over Fairview when they last played one another back in April of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Cardinals fell 15-11 to the Warriors on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Trevor Kitzberger made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Easton Weber, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Brookside has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6-1 record this season. As for Fairview, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookside will venture away from home to face off against North Olmsted at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.6 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Fairview, they will head out to challenge Cuyahoga Falls at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
