Bellevue East posted their closest win since August 30th on Saturday. They skirted past the Columbus Discoverers 2-1. This was payback for the Chieftains, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Bellevue East got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 21-25, 25-23.

Elizabeth Manning paced Bellevue East's offense, picking up nine kills. Manning got some help from Riley Homan and her ten assists. Grace Rued controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Columbus' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Avery Bloebaum, who had three digs and two aces, and Alexah Riha, who had seven digs and two aces. Aliyah Betz also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Bellevue East's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 8-13. As for Columbus, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.

Bellevue East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Burke on the 4th. As for Columbus, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Grand Island on the 4th.
