Recap: Pearsall Mavericks vs. Crystal City Javelinas
The Pearsall Mavericks lost against the Crystal City Javelinas back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Pearsall's rough 66-43 loss to Crystal City might stick with them for a while.
Among those leading the charge was Selma Flores, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. Faith Martinez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Pearsall has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Crystal City, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Pearsall's road trip will continue as they head out to face Floresville at 6:15 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Floresville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday. Crystal City will be home for the holidays to greet Jourdanton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jourdanton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Crystal City in Texas (Jourdanton is ranked 429th, while Crystal City is ranked 1099th).
