Soccer Game Preview: Seaforth vs. Orange

The Seaforth Hawks will venture away from home to face off against the Orange Panthers at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Orange will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Seaforth extended their winning streak to four on Monday. The Hawks' defense stepped up to hand Bartlett Yancey a 15-0 shutout. Sofia Viana was a massive factor in the win as she booted in seven goals all by herself.

Something new happened on Monday as Lillian Adamo saw her first action of the season, playing 20 minutes against Bartlett Yancey. Adamo made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Orange, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in March. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Cedar Ridge on Monday. That looming 8-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Orange yet this season.

Seaforth's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five matchups. As for Orange, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Seaforth skirted past Orange 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
