Football Recap: Union Grove Takes a Loss

Union Grove came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Elysian Fields Yellowjackets and fell 49-22. The Lions lost against the Yellowjackets in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 42-40 score last time.

Although Union Grove took the loss, they still got scores from Konner Long, Hudson Wightman, and Wrigley Roberts.

Union Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Elysian Fields, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Union Grove will head out to take on Ore City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will be up against the Rebels' rather soft defense (which has allowed 31.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Elysian Fields, they will venture away from home to square off against Big Sandy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.67 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
