Basketball Recap: Otay Ranch Victorious

Mt. Carmel came into Thursday's game looking for another win against Otay Ranch, but Jordyn Webster wouldn't allow it. The Otay Ranch Mustangs secured a 63-57 W over the Mt. Carmel Sundevils on Thursday thanks in part to Webster, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.3 rebounds per game.

Despite the loss, Mt. Carmel still got an impressive performance from Makai Orje, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 19 points. That's the most points Orje has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Humphrey, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Otay Ranch's record now sits at 2-4. As for Mt. Carmel, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Otay Ranch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-48 win against Grossmont on the 14th. As for Mt. Carmel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 77-46 victory against Granite Hills on the 14th.
