Basketball Recap: Emmanuel Christian Comes Up Short

On Monday, the Emmanuel Christian Crusaders lost to the Christ the Cornerstone Academy Defenders on the road by a 31-14 margin. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Emmanuel Christian still got an impressive performance from Maddie Oliver, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Oliver has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.

Emmanuel Christian's record is now 2-7. As for Christ the Cornerstone Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Emmanuel Christian will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Harvest Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. After both having extra time off, Christ the Cornerstone Academy and Mullins Marion Christian will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 4:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
