Basketball Recap: Brett Kuhlmann's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Winters Mill over Liberty

Winters Mill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Liberty Lions, falling 70-47. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brett Kuhlmann, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Steckel, who put up eight points.

Winters Mill's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Liberty, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Winters Mill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-62 victory against Manchester Valley on the 21st. Liberty has also already played their next contest, a 63-56 defeat against Westminster on the 21st.
